The PGME welcomes the appointments of our new medicine college tutors and the appointment of a new role in the post of Surgical Associate Foundation Training Programme Lead.

The medicine college tutor position is a job share between Dr Monira Rahman, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Dr Tak Ellis, Consultant Geriatrician. Both share a passion for teaching and innovation and have been well established clinical and educational supervisors.

Newly created this year, is the Surgical Associate Foundation Training Programme Lead, taken up by Mr Karan Kapoor, ENT Consultant, working at the Trust as for 5 years and lead clinician for the ENT department at the Trust. The role of Surgical Associate FTPL will support Foundation Doctors to access a comprehensive range of experiences within their surgical rotations and will work with surgical educators to ensure that surgical placements and the programme as a whole, meets South Thames Foundation School (STFS) standard for training.
