After a very busy time for the NHS and the Trust during the peak of Covid -19, where the Trust has adapted to a 2m social distancing measures to protect staff and patients where possible, the PGME team has begun to schedule regular teaching using NHS approved MS Teams. Whilst the social element of meeting up for teaching and presenting to an empty room is a different experience virtually, the education department is excited to embrace this new way of delivering teaching; The gains for this new format are its ability to reach Trust colleagues where ever they may be at the time of teaching and educator groups whose schedules and operating lists mean they are rarely on-site; who will now be able to contribute and deliver presentations wherever they are.

Weekly Grand Round lectures have also begun to be streamed by MS Teams and there are plans to explore how to allow access to presentations if doctors cannot log-in live. The education team are also looking at how to provide a regular space for Doctor’s in Training to view live streamed weekly teaching and are beginning to film presentations for future use.
