Student Induction

Prior to your first placement with us you with have a student induction, for first year students this will be half a day dedicated to ensuring you are prepped and prepared for your first placement in the hospital. This will cover:

• Trust/ organisation introduction
• Support for students on placement 
• Expectations
• Trust policies
• Training
• Contacts and departments in the hospital 

Your university will set aside a day from your studies to attend the induction. Due to the current climate inductions are currently taking place via Microsoft teams, this is also a time to see who else from your university will be in taking a placement within the hospital.

We have also created an online video/e-learning induction for all students who have been on placement with us before or to those who are unable to attend on their designated induction day. This covers the key areas and information needed for your placement and provides an update for the training you need to complete.
