CCrISP is an interactive course that explores the skills and knowledge needed to look after surgical patients including those who are deteriorating or at risk of doing so. Highly knowledgeable faculty from both surgical and anaesthetic specialties will help you develop practical, theoretical and personal skills in a safe environment so that you can assess and manage critical situations in a systematic way. CCrISP is relevant to all specialties, however in-course examples are predominantly taken from general surgical patients.

Places are limited to 16, applications will be reviewed by the Course Director to allocate places. We will confirm those successful in gaining a place by email. A reserve list will be kept in case of cancellations. Payment will only be taken from those that are successful in gaining a place on the course.

This course is suitable for: CT1-2 & SAS grades.

How to pay:

There are two options to pay for your place on the course:

  • Pay by cheque, made payable to Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. The cheque should be sent to Training Course Administrator, PGEC, Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, East Surrey Hospital, Canada Avenue,  Redhill, Surrey RH1 5RH.
  • Pay by Credit Card. Please complete the card payment form and return it by email to [email protected]. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept Amex payments at this time.

Course Terms and Conditions

Course cancellation by you:

  • If you wish to cancel your place on the course after you have booked and paid, you must contact the course administrator by email as soon as possible, ensuring the subject title of the email reads: Urgent CCrISP course cancellation
  • If you notify us to cancel your place, more than four weeks before the start date of the course, we will refund you the course fee paid, less an administration charge of 10% (£75), to cover our costs of administering your application
  • However, if you notify us to cancel your place less than four weeks before the start date of the course, once the course has started, or if you do not notify us at all, the total course fees will be charged and you will not receive a refund
  • If you are required to self-isolate due to COVID-19 (eg suspected infection, diagnosed infection, informed through the UK ‘Track and Trace’ scheme) you will be eligible to transfer your place to another available course at the same centre without penalty. You must provide written evidence of this self-isolation (eg confirmation from your workplace) and you must notify us before the start of the course.

Course cancellation by us:

  • We will make every effort to run this course as advertised. Due to the ongoing nature of the pandemic, we may be required at short notice to cancel this course, if faculty are required to return to clinical areas.
  •  If the course is cancelled we will tell you as soon as possible, and provide you with a full refund of course fees paid, or we will provide you with a new date, at which you can choose to secure with your previous payment
  • We will not be responsible for any consequential losses (e.g. travel or accommodation costs) incurred by you in such cases and you may wish to consider taking out appropriate travel insurance for any non-refundable costs you incur when arranging to attend this course.
  • We may cancel your place on the course and terminate our contract by giving immediate notice if:
    a) You are expelled or excluded from the course as a result of your misconduct or behaviour on the course
    b) Your behaviour or conduct does not in our reasonable opinion meet professional standards or rules, including those relating to integrity, ethics, honesty and trustworthiness; and/or
    c) Your attendance or progress is unsatisfactory and/or we find that you are unsuitable for the course in our reasonable opinion, the cancellation is our best interests and/or your best interests

All copyright and other intellectual property rights, including course content and teaching materials, belong exclusively to The Royal College of Surgeons of England. Participation in a course or event does not transfer or grant any rights over such material to you. This means that you must not use, copy, record or otherwise share materials without RCSENG written permission. Your permission is to use the materials for your personal private study whilst you are on the course

Language
The course and content are delivered in English; it is your responsibility to ensure that your level of English is sufficient.

Information provided by you
You must ensure that all information provided to us is accurate, current and complete. If any information provided by you is found to be untrue, inaccurate or not current or complete then we may cancel your place on the course

Personal information about you may be processed for the following purposes: providing the course to you, processing your payment of the fees, course administration and confirmation of your attendance, if required to RCSENG
